Your Identity
When you open Redirekt for the first time, an anonymous account is created for you automatically. This account will represent your identity in the app until you sign in with another existing account.
- Your Email Address: we use this information to identify your account. If you sign in with multiple providers (eg. Apple and Google), we use your email address to match all providers to the same account.
- Your Name: we show this in your profile in the app.
If you decide to sign in to Redirekt with an existing account, the data you generated in the previous account will be merged with the new one. The previous account will be erased immediately as soon as the migration is complete.
To authenticate you using your email address, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign In, we use a third-party tool called "Firebase Authentication". Firebase Authentication is an authentication system developed and maintained by Google. You may want to check how Firebase handles your data in their Privacy Policy. Firebase Authentication may collect information about your device and your IP address to prevent abuse and to provide you with a secure experience. Firebase Authentication processes your data on our behalf in the United States. All transfers adhere to the GDPR compliance measures.
At any time, you can delete your account from the app. When you delete your account, all the data associated with your account will be deleted permanently. We do not keep backups of your data after you delete your account.
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Virginia, you should know that this information qualifies as Identifiers and we will use and retain it as long as you have an account with us. You can request to delete your account and all the data associated with it at any time.
Your Purchases
If you decide to subscribe to Redirekt Pro, we store and process the following information:
- Your App Store purchase: we store information about your purchase to verify it, but also to display you useful information such as when it renews or expires.
To seamlessly sync your subscription across all your devices and to provide you with an excellent experience, we store your purchases on a third-party tool called "RevenueCat". You may want to check how RevenueCat handles your data in their Privacy Policy.
Your subscription information on RevenueCat is associated with your identity in Redirekt.
Your Data
The data you generate while using Redirekt is securely stored in Redirekt Cloud. This includes the following items:
- Your Links: All the links you add in Redirekt are stored until you delete them.
To store your data and make it available on multiple devices, we rely on a third-party tool called "Firebase Firestore". Firebase Firestore is an cloud database service developed and maintained by Google. You may want to check how Firebase handles your data in their Privacy Policy. Firebase Firestore may collect information about your device and your IP address to prevent abuse and to provide you with a secure experience.
We cannot access your data. We do not read your links, and we do not share them with third parties. We do not use your data for any purpose other than providing you with the service you expect from Redirekt.
Tracking
We do not use any of the information you share with us through Redirekt to track you.
Starting with version 1.6.0, we do not use any tracking mechanisms in Redirekt. In previous versions, we used an analytics tracking tool called "Microsoft AppCenter": all the data tracked by this tool was anonymous and aggregated. As we moved away from this tool, we deleted all the data.
As Redirekt makes use of two services provided by Firebase, we are forced to integrate the Firebase SDK in our app. The Firebase SDK has an analytics tracking mechanism inside, but it is turned off in Redirekt. We do not collect any data from you using this mechanism.
The operating system that you use to run Redirekt may be tracking additional information. Please refer to the privacy policy of your operating system for more information.
How to further protect yourself
The following tips will enhance your privacy when using Redirekt.
- When you sign in to Redirekt, use Sign in with Apple to hide your real email address. While signing in for the first time, you will also be given an option to change your display name to something other than your real name.
- If you do not want to use Sign in with Apple, opt for a service that allows you to hide your real email address using Email Aliases.
- Turn off sharing of app analytics with developers from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
